Along with that sentence come high expectations from the household. Everyone looks forward to a nice thanksgiving-like meal frequently. You don’t want to shatter those expectations by serving them bland, tasteless, boring food. You’ll only end up throwing the leftovers off at the end of the day. That doesn’t happen much to the pizza, does it?
What if I told you there are many unadvertised ordinary foods that can make you look like Gordon Ramsey of the block? Start visiting the isles of the grocery store you’ve been avoiding for long because they’re boring and typical.
- Look for compelling add-ons. For example, Kale can be really boring but that’s what we are here to fix. Not a single toddler or a grownup has been excited looking at raw kale as they’d be looking at bacon or roasted turkey. Here are a few things you can combine with foods like kale to make them delicious and interesting.
- Goat cheese
- Grape fruit
- Food too bland? Don’t forget the seasoning. Many of you might be watching your weight, attending personal fitness training sessions in a local gym and might have a strict diet plan. The trouble with diet plan is that they get boring too soon. If you are having chicken or any other protein for dinner every night then you would want to consider giving it a different seasoning every time to keep your enthusiasm about food alive. Here are some ideas.
- Mixed herbs
- Sea salt
- Don’t forget to add condiments that make your food juicy. Look for condiments that give a nice aroma and flavor to your food. Sometimes foods like salads and grilled protein can feel too dry to eat. You can avoid that by seasoning or marinating the food with liquid based ingredients. Following are a few examples of the things that can make a huge difference in the taste.

- Lemon juice
- Decorate your food. You put so much effort cooking a nice meal for you and your loved ones. It would be a shame if it tastes great but it just lies there because it’s not that attractive. A good suggestion would be to spend a few minutes after on garnishing the food and making it look mouth-watering. You can always be creative with the garnishing on your food. There are plenty of possibilities. Many of them are tough in a culinary & chef diploma course and a few of them could be:
- Lemon slices
- Edible flowers
With all these simple ingredients and tricks you can keep yourself and your loved ones waiting for the next meal. All these things can be very helpful whether it be the holiday season or summer break. Whatever you cook, always remember to put food safety and hygiene first. You deserve a feast every day!
